The Cave Arena at the Johnny Mize Athletic Center, which is the site for Piedmont's basketball games and volleyball matches, received a much-needed restoration on its hardwood floor.
The court, unaltered for eight years, got a new paint job that included new logos and color schemes.
However, some of the upgrades are hardly as noticeable as the paint.
Many wooden panels were replaced with new flooring.
The refurbished gym floor consists of the modern athletics logo at center court, while the baselines contain Piedmont's monikers.
The three-point lines have also been moved back for men's basketball to a distance of 20 feet, nine inches.
The new distance takes effect this season.
The company that revamped the arena was the same company that laid the original hardwood eight years ago.
The new-look court will make its debut September 13 when the Lady Lions' volleyball squad takes the floor against visiting Great South Athletic Conference opponents LaGrange College.
