Art Gallery: High School Art Show
by Andy House
Issue date: 3/17/08 Section: A&E
Piedmont College's art department recently hosted a art show to support local high school students. It gave art students the valuable experience of displaying their work in the annual event. Outstanding students from surrounding counties submitted art for the show. The show encompassed various genres.
The art show was also a Piedmont-sponsored contest for high school students. The first, second and third place winners were awarded at the event. Students Danielle Dutcher and Halley Beagle were the students in charge of the show. The event took place on Friday, March 14. With this event, the college and the art department are able to spot some of the more talented artists from Habersham and surrounding counties. If you use this event as an example for the future, you'll see more outstanding artwork in years to come, and look for even more fabulous art from the future students of Piedmont College.
