Although their season ended after a Sugar Bowl win over Hawaii, the Georgia Bulldogs have won again, only this time with bigger significance.
Georgia pulled off the fifth best recruiting class, according to ESPN.com.The team signed seven ESPN 150 recruits, including one from just around the corner.
Habersham Central High School senior Tavarres King, an ESPN 150 recruit, could make a big impact on Georgia's offense in upcoming years.
Upcoming junior Matthew Stafford will now have some much-needed weapons with receiver A.J. Green and running back Carlton Thomas. Defensively, Richard Samuel, the 35th overall player in the country, Deangelo Tyson and Toby Jackson all will be of great impact.
Samuel could also develop into the next great Georgia back.
King's 2007 senior season reached historic levels, as he broke Georgia's state records for yards receiving in a season with 1,641 and receptions with 100.
King led the Habersham Central Raiders to the Class AAAA state quarterfinals and was named Class AAAA Offensive Player of the Year by the Georgia Sports Writers Association and named the 2007-2008 Gatorade Georgia Football Player of the Year.
King received interest from many teams, but was impressed with Georgia's success on the field, as well as off.
The expectations for King are big, but it will be tough to find early playing time with such a talented group of receivers joining Georgia's roster.
