Many of us have a favorite lunch spot, coffee shop or fine-dining restaurant. But how about all three in one?

The 51 Grill in the Old Clarkesville Mill offers all three options plus more. Their menu has dinner entrée selections that rival most fine-dining restaurants in the area, but they also have a fantastic, and reasonably priced, lunch menu. On top of all that, they offer a selection of both iced and hot coffees and other drinks similar to what you find at a coffee shop.

One of the best parts of the 51 Grill is the ambience. The restaurant's color scheme is a treat for the eyes with shades of blue and orange. The entire restaurant has a modern feel. It's a relaxing and calming environment to share dinner with that special someone or a quick lunch with a friend.

The restaurant also offers wireless Internet, in case you're looking to get that business lunch in or just want to check your e-mail. The restaurant has one projector screen which displays sporting events, and one TV near the entrance that is dedicated to CNN. There are also plans in the future to offer live performances and open-mike nights.

I've been to the restaurant twice, both times for lunch with a friend. The first time was one of the best experiences I have had at a sit-down restaurant. The second time the service was a bit slow, but the food was well worth the wait.

The first time I had the St. Croix salad, which includes mandarin oranges and walnuts with grilled chicken. The salad was fresh and tasty and came with a mango dressing that is hands-down the best dressing I have ever had.

My friend had the Caesar salad with grouper. The dressing was some of the best Caesar I have ever tasted. The grouper was also tender and moist.

The second time I went I had the pastrami sandwich. I can't describe how good that sandwich was; go try it. My friend had the corn cobb salad with grilled chicken; it was comparable to the other salads mentioned before.

Finally, the 51 Grill is amazing because of its location. It's situated between the bowling alley and the Artful Barn. There are many great ways to spend an afternoon at the Old Clarkesville Mill, and any of them can be topped off with a delicious meal at the 51 Grill.
