With her degree, George taught in the art department at the University of Louisiana and the department of continuing education at Louisiana College.
The colors of the mountain ranges in George's paintings express enthusiasm for her subject while also conveying a message of encouragement to fellow travelers.
Her work has been an inspiration for over 30 years, and has become part of many private and corporate collections throughout the United States. George's works have also become recognizable due to the landscape's identifiable brushstrokes, rich color and playful and inspirational titles.
"I paint using the forms of nature as symbols for expression: pathways, clouds, mountains, sunlight and shadows, flowers, trees and flowing streams," says George.
"I also collect titles from everything from rock music to hymns, sermons, movies, conversations and TV. I am inspired by both words and music. The paintings are a record of my journey, the expression of my deepest feelings for family and friends, and they tell my philosophy: choose a path with heart, live your dreams and love conquers all."
George's show will continue until Feb. 29.
